I'm looking at Tool tickets because they play around here next week on election night, and what the fuck? There are like, 4 $550 seats available directly through the venue site. It's not even close to being sold out, but for the rest, I have to look at some bullshit reselling site called like, TicketFuck or whatever, and all the shit on those sites is 2 tickets (I only need one but have to buy both) for $389. OG price was supposedly around $60, which sounds about right because I paid some $70 at the door when I last saw Tool around a decade ago in North Jersey where everything is more expensive than most places.
Cool system we have where rich tech fucks get to turn everything into a stock market commodity.

I saw the Boris/Melvins date around here; I feel bad for you missing out. Boris was so damn good.
I remember some vague sort of congressional action to combat Ticketmaster, which is fine, but I feel like the hawkish resale market and venues (see also: the huge problem with merch cuts) are also a huge driving force behind that. Even if you "defeat" the ticketing giant, those shitty forces will be there to pick up the slack. Kind of wish I could go back in time to appreciate the $8-10 show a little more.

I saw on IG it was packed wall to wall. Ive seen Boris with Nothing and it was amazing!! But yeah when i saw the Cure they had this whole mission statement on their site about it and to be fair tix werent that expensive but merch and drinks were outta this world. Sadly, if its not one thing its another.

Being Straight Edge rules because it's like, $9 for a single beer at a concert. I feel like even if I drank, I wouldn't pay that.
Maybe large venues have always been awful. I saw NIN at the Spectrum (RIP) in 2008 and their shirts were $50 then.
