anyone else think dark souls 3 is underrated in a weird way? sure it was the most commercially successful and like the closest fromsoft has gotten to making a AAA game, but it's precisely because of those factors that i feel people don't give it the credit it deserves. it's definitely a great game with plenty of identity of its own. i don't like when people parrot the "DS1 rehash!!! thing." dark souls 3 is probably the best one in the series. i would definitely view dark souls 2 as the underrated one that gets dunked on way too much. i feel like ds3 did the ds1 throwback stuff in a way that was very similar to mgs4 and shadow moses. it was tasteful and didn't take away from the vision. great game. i think a few years ago i'd agree with DS2 being underrated but it feels like people give that game its fair dues now. and it's definitely a solid game. just kinda sucks that after people stopped shitting on DS2 they just moved to DS3 as their new target. that's just the cycle of video game fandom hype though, happens with every series |
